Bonza Rentals is centrally located in Rockford, Illinois and serves the the greater Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison metropolitan areas. We supply professional film production equipment for rent on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
While our strongest suit is grip and lighting, we also carry an inventory of camera department, sound, and production support equipment.

Founder
Josiah Sjöström
Freelance Gaffer | Studio Manager | Midwest Film Industry Proponent
Josiah began his film industry journey in 2004 at a community college in Rockford, IL (RVC). Although ultimately switching to a music major, he credits the college for peaking his interest in film production.
His professional career began in 2009 with the founding Bonza Media, which began as a production company serving a handful of small businesses in Northern Illinois. The company grew and ultimately produced a number of successful ad campaigns for a number of well respected brands.
As time progressed, Josiah’s passion shifted to lighting. Today, he is a working gaffer affectionally referred to by a number of his peers as “The Dapper Gaffer”.
In 2020 Josiah co-founded City Stage Studios – a commercial sound stage for rent in Rockford, IL located at the same facility as Bonza Rentals.
